I don't know. I really didn't like this. It's a fast read. I found myself skimming a lot, just about stuff meant to build character. It was lame. Nothing felt genuine. Not Alissa's friendship with Evie, not how Carter couldn't get enough of her, not Alissa unable to push him away. I don't know. I guess it's just what you'd expect for someone making fictional characters out of a generic recipe. So, yeah, not worth it to me. I'll pass on this author. Btw, I've never imagined a man thinking "p*ssy lips" Lmao just another thing that pulled me out. I shouldn't read a book in a guy's pov and remember a woman is writing him.

Aly & Carter meet in their apartment building; she’s just moving in and he plans on moving in a week. There is instant attraction and banter between the two, and even when they try to stay away from one another the universe keeps drawing them right back in. This book is a romance, but there’s also humor, drama and danger thrown into the mix to keep you turning the pages!

This book has a lot of chemistry between Alissa and Carter. When they meet, sparks fly. Carter wants to leave town while Alissa just moved into town start a new job. They try to avoid each other to avoid entanglements that neither one of them really wants but of course situations arise that prevents that. The love scenes are hot and their dialogue is snappy. The book is alternately hot and funny with a dash of danger. This was an entertaining book.

over all nice, but gets a bit mushy at the end

Oh man what a great read about Carter, who owns his own protection business and Alissa, his new next door neighbour that he can’t get enough of. Alissa has just moved in when she transfers with her company and moves to Boston. She wants to move up in the business and this is the next step. But Carter is done in Boston and is on his way out of town, until Alissa needs his services and he agrees, since his stepdad, and evil person and a high criminal makes it hard for Carter to leave Alissa. Carter has his secrets and so does Alissa, but it doesn’t stop their intense attraction for each other and becoming enemies with benefits. When all the secrets and lies finally come to a head...who will be left standing.A great read with steam, suspense that had me sitting on edge and a twist that I didn’t see coming till near the end. I liked these two, their banter was spot on and the heat between them was smoking. I also like Evie, Alissa’s BF who was a comedic relief that made me chuckle many times. The story flowed beautifully, the characters were great and the ending with the letter...holy smokes...wrapped it all up beautifully and once again made me chuckle a few times.*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

this book was one of those books that you read the blurb and go in with a certain expectation ONLY to have that expectation blown completely out of the water!!!! Its a mix of drama, suspense, comedy,heat, you name it all rolled into one and served on a silver platter. Carter in the begining strikes you as a complete jerk but once the book gets along you cant help but laugh at his antics. and Alyssa is so driven that you want to hit her over the head with a 2 by 4 cause she cant tell sometimes whats right in front of her even though her best friend keeps trying to point it out like in the very beginnig in the bar scene where she makes the excuse to leave so that Carter and Alyssa can get to know each other.

I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this bookHaving never read anything by Aubrey Wright, this wasn't a bad read. Carter and Alissa were OK characters, the chemistry between them was over the top, and the whole first encounter between them was a totally bizarre. The story was interesting, but do these two ever communicate besides in the sack??!! A little much for me, but I'd try this author again

This is a well written book with an entertaining story line. I loved Alissa and Carter's characters , their hot chemistry and hilarious banter and antics throughout the book. The author kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end. If you enjoy laugh out loud romance with explosive passion , I think you'll love this book. I know I did! Highly recommend reading.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
